BROOKLYN BOUNCE RESTART SPECIAL EDITION INSTALL
The world will install 300-500 GW of panels annually after 2030, a quarter of it alongside energy storage facilities at that point, and rising to 50% by mid century. That the global economy and energy industry will change beyond recognition by mid century is not disputed by DNV, which predicts the world will host 11.5 TW of solar generation capacity in 2050 – 7.6 TW of solar panels and 3.9 TW of solar-plus-storage, and including 800 GW of off-grid photovoltaics dedicated to hydrogen production and 130 GW of other off-grid arrays, alongside cheap battery systems, for energy access purposes. The failure of policymakers to use Covid recovery packages to reset global industry – with the honorable exception of the EU – means the Covid-19 pandemic is now a “lost opportunity,” according to Oslo-based DNV, with the world on track for only 9% fewer energy-related emissions in 2030, and 45% fewer 20 years later. Does it now have pride of place on his wall, or is it gathering dust in a closet? Who knows. Couldn't see the sketch, couldn't see the purchaser. What am I bid? Going, going, gone!' (for about £100 I think). But I could hear the auctioneer, journalist Mark Ellen, in action. No amount of 'excuse me-ing' and 'can I just squeeze thru' made any difference, nor was it possible that it could have made a difference. Half way down the stairs I came to a complete stop the punters had flocked forward, like myself, to get a close look at the goods being auctioned.

The first set being over, I belted up to the green room for a change of shirt etc, then began to head back down for the interesting auction. The Three Kings is an old building the layout comprises a biggish downstairs room (with the 'stage' set up at one end), and a narrow, curving, enclosed stairway up to the small 'green room' and kitchen. This being a charity event, it was decided that Blake's sketches from the first set of the evening would be auctioned at half time.
BROOKLYN BOUNCE RESTART SPECIAL EDITION SERIES
The occasion some time in the 'noughties' when Robyn Hitchcock was in the habit of calling me up to play in his house band for his commendable series of charity gigs at the Three Kings in Clerkenwell, which for some reason, in Hitchcock style, he called the Feghorn.īlake, known among many other things for his portrayals of musicians at work, was likewise in the habit of popping along to Hitchcock gigs. I've had my portrait done (well, been sketched) by the artist Peter Blake, but I've never seen the sketch or am likely to.
